SPC has a number of over 400 “Speed-Courier” customer centers (which also act as the courier services offices), 90 digital production houses and 230 logistics offices and warehouses across the countries in APAC region.
It has more than 130,000 employees, where 60% manages its core business of courier services. SPC has been doing well traditionally, with a friendly work culture where there is no intense competition among departments and teams. Employees enjoy staying in their own comfort zone and the annual employee engagement results have been fairly consistent in the satisfactory range. With the consistent satisfactory overall performance and little lay offs in the past 10 years, the organization has not invested much in terms of skills upgrade or development.
To date, the household business accounts for less than 5% of SPC’s total revenues whereas the rest of the revenue is generated by corporate business. Out of the total revenues from corporate business accounts, the revenue generated by each service is further analyzed (Please refer to the Financial Data). Also, SPC has multi-year deals with a lot of its top clients in providing courier services.
